Don’t miss “Caricatures, Campagna, and Connoisseurs: Thomas Patch and the British Grand Tour in Eighteenth-Century Italy,” on view at the LWL through December 15. This groundbreaking exhibition features the paintings, drawings, and prints of Thomas Patch, eighteenth-century British artist who worked in Italy. Patch’s output included landscape views of Italy, prints after quattrocento Italian artists, and, perhaps most famously, caricature groups of English Grand Tourists. Curated by Independent Scholar Hugh Belsey, the exhibition includes works from the LWL and on loan from the Yale Center for British Art. Open Wednesdays 2-4:30 pm, and other times by appointment.
